From the practice of BTBusiness advice:
'In 2016 I was in a bad position financially with my transport company. I had problems with my landlord and the tax authorities were very difficult due to an overdue turnover tax debt. I kept pushing the problems away and thought it would solve itself. I have paid too little attention to all financial matters. My accountant will help me, but now I know that you really have to be the captain of the ship yourself. Having insight into your own company, that's what it's all about. Anyway, I know that now. Then I immediately needed money to continue. I was sure that my company has a future, I have good clients. My bank no longer helped me. The result of the past two years was not good enough, they said, and I had too little certainty for them. Then, at the insistence of my accountant, I applied for Bbz credit at my municipality.
I got BTBusiness advice on the floor as an advisor to the municipality. That was a learning moment! My company, and therefore I, was vetted both commercially and financially. It gave me a lot of knowledge about how to look at your own company. Actually, I hadn't had such a conversation in all those years that I did business. I then made changes. I now make an annual budget. I have also structured my business and private expenses much better. To be honest, I reserved too little and spent too much, it was too easy. I lacked structure. Also, I had never made an operating, investment and private budget. I now know that this keeps you really busy and also gives you peace of mind. I am now thinking ahead on many more points. Figures will never become my hobby, but by using it smarter my continuity is a lot more secure and I do business with less worries! '
